What Drives Us
Mothers deserve a social space where the ways our lives are changed by having kids are accepted and make us part of the group, rather than alienating us. We believe that intentional, authentic, in-person gathering with other mamas is the key to a more sustainable, empowered mothering journey.
We are offering an opportunity to do something special for yourself and enjoy a reprieve from taking care of everyone while we take care of you. For our pregnant guests, we are excited to help you enter motherhood in a connected way and build a foundation of self-prioritization. Too often mothers experience burnout, isolation, and self-doubt. Let’s change this together!
Our Model
Truly supportive relationships are born from recurring time together. We hope that you will be delighted by your first Village Night and come back many times. There is no membership commitment. We encourage you to exchange phone numbers with your table group and meet up outside of the event. You can request to sit with specific people when making your reservation or let us seat you with moms we believe you will find community with. We want each mom who comes to The Village to enjoy a much-deserved night out and experience lasting connection.
Meet the Founders
Hannah Sippl
Hannah is a mother of two who grew up wild in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas. She gave birth to her first daughter in April 2020, a time of unparalleled isolation that catalyzed her role as a community maker. She loves bringing people together, creating beautiful spaces, baking, hosting, and supporting fellow moms. She holds a monthly “Moms’ Night” in her backyard for her friends, an event that has become cherished and eagerly awaited. Welcoming the greater mom community to “Village Nights” is an adventurous new step for Hannah in following her calling to foster parent connections.
Kathleen Redmond
Kathleen, mama to two, relocated with her family to Berkeley from New York City in 2020. After having a very isolating experience with her first child and moving to a new city in the midst of a pandemic, Kathleen was highly motivated to build community in her new home. Some of her most cherished friendships have been forged at “Moms’ Night” and she hopes to foster that joy and connection to others at the Village. When not hanging with her mom friends, you can find her running, reading, baking and going on adventures around the Bay with her kiddos.
